This privacy policy applies to the WasEssen Meal Planner app. Effective date: March 25, 2026.

The controller responsible for personal data processing in connection with this app is:

2. What data is processed in the app
WasEssen Meal Planner generally works without an account in the app and without custom backend servers. Based on the current feature set, the app stores the following data locally on the device:
- your recipes, including ingredients, preparation steps, images and notes
- weekly plans and assigned meals
- enabled meal slots such as breakfast, lunch and dinner
- theme settings, onboarding state and other app preferences
- the currently selected list for planning and recipes
The app currently does not include analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs or in-app tracking for marketing purposes.
3. Why this data is used
The data is used exclusively to provide the meal planner, manage recipes, preserve settings and optionally enable synchronization or sharing of your active list.
When importing from a Chefkoch URL, the app fetches the selected page directly from that provider to read recipe details. PDF imports are processed locally from the file you choose.
4. Storage and deletion
Recipes, settings and planning data are stored locally on the device. If you delete content in the app or uninstall the app, that data is removed within the limits of the operating system, unless a backup or sync copy exists.
5. iCloud and family sharing
iCloud sync can be enabled optionally. If enabled, data is synchronized through Apple iCloud and CloudKit so lists can sync across devices or be shared with other people.
If you use family sharing for a list, Apple processes the required synchronization data as the platform provider. Apple's own privacy terms also apply in that case.
6. Your rights
To the extent personal data is processed, you have rights under applicable law, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
